For bookkeepers

Bank statement analysis for bookkeepers

Close the month without retyping a single transaction from a PDF.

The problem

Month-end close starts with data entry that nobody bills for. Statements arrive as PDFs, scans and inconsistent CSV exports, and each client uses a different chart of accounts. By the time the transactions are in the ledger the actual bookkeeping work has barely started, and any typo made during entry has to be hunted down during reconciliation.

How Karchu helps

Karchu sits in front of the ledger. It reads every statement format, reconciles the extracted rows against the opening and closing balances so gaps surface immediately, and categorizes with rules you write per client. Exports land in CSV, QBO or Xero-ready files, so the ledger receives clean data instead of hand-typed rows.

Recommended workflow

  1. Create a workspace for each client and upload the period's statements.
  2. Check the reconciliation summary so missing pages are caught before entry.
  3. Map categories to the client's chart of accounts once, then reuse the rules every month.
  4. Review only the transactions the rules could not place with confidence.
  5. Export a ledger-ready file and import it into the accounting system.

What users say

Close went from three evenings of typing to one afternoon of review, and the review is the part clients actually pay for.
