The problem
Every file arrives as a stack of PDF statements from different banks in different layouts. Establishing average income, counting existing commitments and spotting returned payments means reading line by line, and the reading has to be consistent between officers or the decisions are not comparable.
How Karchu helps
Karchu extracts and reconciles each statement against its own balances, then categorizes the transactions with a shared rule set so every file is assessed the same way. Income credits, loan repayments and returned payments group into their own totals. Because rules are explicit and editable, any decision can be traced back to the rule that produced it.
Recommended workflow
- Create a workspace per applicant file and upload every statement supplied.
- Confirm each statement reconciles, which also flags missing pages before assessment starts.
- Apply the shared rule set to categorize income, commitments and discretionary spending.
- Review the monthly income average, committed outgoings and any flagged returned payments.
- Export the categorized summary into the credit file as supporting evidence.
What users say
The reconciliation check catches a missing statement page before anyone has spent an hour assessing an incomplete file.
